A one-week celebration of golf in Baltimore to raise funds for YouthWorks, Baltimore City's
summer job program providing employment to thousands of youth and young adults.

From May 26th to June 3rd, Baltimore City golf courses will be holding events to celebrate golf and raise funds for YouthWorks. Below are the events and a link for more information about YouthWorks.

Baltimore Golf Week featuring the Mayor’s Cup Events

The ValStone Partners Million-Dollar Hole-in-One contest at the Pine Ridge Driving Range.

From May 29th to June 2nd, a circle that is approximately 125 yards away from the driving stations will be set up. For a fee of $5 for one shot or $20 for five shots (paid in the driving range building before attempting to qualify), amateur golfers can attempt to hit a golf ball that stays on this temporary green. All amateur golfers that are able to do this qualify for the finals of the million-dollar hole-in-one contest. On June 3rd, a temporary green and hole that is at least 165 yards away from the driving stations will be set up. All amateur golfers that qualified for the finals will be able to take one shot at a hole-in-one and the million dollars*. This is open to only amateur golfers.

There is no pre-registration for the event. Contestants are invited to show up at Pine Ridge during any of the dates and times listed below.

$50,000 Hole-in-One contest at the Forest Park Golf Course

From May 28th to June 1st, a circle that is approximately 100 yards away from the driving stations will be set up at the Forest Park Driving Range. For a fee of $5 for one shot or $20 for five shots (paid in the clubhouse before going to the range), amateur golfers can attempt to hit a golf ball that stays on this temporary green. All amateur golfers that are able to do this qualify for the finals of the $50,000 hole-in-one contest. On June 2nd, a hole that is at least 135 yards away from the driving stations will be set up on one of the Forest Park Driving Range greens. All amateur golfers that qualified for the finals will be able to take one shot at a hole-in-one and the $50,000. This is open to only amateur golfers.

There is no pre-registration for the event. Contestants are invited to show up at Forest Park during any of the dates and times listed below.

Long Drive Contest at Mount Pleasant Golf Course

Mount Pleasant will be hosting a Long Drive Contest that is a multi-day event. Qualifying will take place on Saturday, May 26th and Sunday, May 27th from 4:30pm to 7:30pm at Mount Pleasant's first tee. There will be six competitive divisions: Junior Boys (17 and under), Junior Girls (17 and under), Men (18-61), Women (18-61), Senior Men (62 and over), and Senior Women (62 and over). The top three drives, plus ties, in each division will qualify for the finals on Saturday, June 2nd at 5:00pm at the Mount Pleasant Golf Course. The prizes for each division are:

  • 1st Place - 5 free rounds of golf at any Classic 5 Golf Course
  • 2nd Place - 2 free rounds of golf at any Classic 5 Golf Course
  • 3rd Place - 1 free round of golf at any Classic 5 Golf Course

There is no pre-registration for the event. Contestants are invited to show up at Mount Pleasant between 4:30pm and 7:30pm on either May 26th or May 27th to attempt their drive. The entry fee is $5.00 for one drive and $20.00 for five drives. Contestants must pay the entry fee in the clubhouse before going to the first tee. If multiple contestants arrive at the same time, the order of play will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Chipping and Putting Contests at Clifton Park Golf Course

Clifton Park will be hosting a Chipping and a Putting Contest. Both contests are multi-day events. Qualifying for both events will take place on Saturday, May 26th and Sunday, May 27th from 7:00am to 2:00pm at Clifton Park Golf Course Short Game Facility. There will be three competitive divisions for each contest: Junior (17 and under), Adult (18-61), and Senior (62 and over). The top five closest to the hole, plus ties, in each division for each contest will qualify for the finals on Monday, May 28th at 12:00pm at the Clifton Park’s Short Game Facility. The prizes for each division of both the Chipping and Putting contests are:

  • 1st Place - 5 free rounds of golf at any Classic 5 Golf Course
  • 2nd Place - 2 free rounds of golf at any Classic 5 Golf Course
  • 3rd Place - 1 free round of golf at any Classic 5 Golf Course

There is no pre-registration for either event. Contestants are invited to show up at Clifton Park between 7:00am and 2:00pm on either May 26th or May 27th to attempt their chips or putts. The entry fee is $10.00 for two chips and $10.00 for two putts. Each event is mutually exclusive and contestants can attempt to qualify for the finals of both or just one contest. Contestants must pay the entry fee in the clubhouse before going to the Short Game Facility. If multiple contestants arrive at the same time, the order of play will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Footgolf Outing at Carroll Park Golf Course

On Sunday, June 3rd, the Carroll Park Golf Course will be hosting a FootGolf outing. The outing is open to everyone and starts at 12:00pm. The FootGolf outing entry fee is $17.00 per person or $68.00 per team of four FootGolfers. If you need a soccer ball, you can rent one at the golf course for $2.50.

Prizes will be awarded to the winning team. You can register for the outing by contacting the Carroll Park pro shop at 410-685-8344.

   

 

Mayor's Cup

On June 3rd at the Forest Park Golf Course, the Mayor’s Cup golf outing will be held. All sponsors of Baltimore Golf Week will be provided a foursome to play in the Mayor’s Cup. A select number of foursomes will be made available for purchase by non-sponsors.  The foursome with the lowest score will be awarded the Mayor’s Cup.

The schedule for the Mayor’s Cup events:

7:00AM - Player registration, breakfast, and player warm-up
8:30AM - Shotgun start-18-Hole Scramble format
1:00PM - Lunch
2:00PM - Awards Ceremony and check presentation of funds
                 raised during Baltimore Golf Week
 

Junior Golf Kickoff Reception and Tim Sanders Plaque Dedication

On June 2nd, from 5:00-7:00pm a cocktail party reception will be held at the Forest Park Golf Course Clubhouse to celebrate junior golf in Baltimore and to dedicate the plaque commemorating Tim Sanders. Guests will need to purchase tickets to attend this event.
